I have personally tried Battlefield: Bad company and Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution. Bad company is the first Battlefield that has an actualy single player company. But the single player experience doesn’t make it enough a reason to buy it, the main purpose is the internet gameplay. Like it predecessors, all multiplayer games are team-based objectives. Instead of capturing bases though, its all about stealing gold. The demo i played was a lot of fun, and the game looks promising, with 25 ranks and unlocks to obtain, it’ll certainly keep you busy for a while.
As for Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution, the demo showed how the gamplay was, and the point of it. Like the previous installement, its all about getting your civilization to advance, you can achieve victory through the economy, warfare, technology or culture. A game in the demo lasted me an hour before it expired, and in that hour i barely managed to progress, was very far from achieving victory. This shows how long and complex the full game should be, offering hours of gameplay. Playing against other players on internet is a very nice feature, although a single game can take hours. Even if the opponent leaves the game before the end, a computer AI will take over and continue instead of him, this allows the game to go on until someone wins. It was a very fun experience, and look forward to playing the full game.
